A high-end aluminum wheelset with proven technology to extend your eMTB ride. An eMTB is designed to quickly ride up and down mountains and to provide fun. The new HX 1501 SPLINE, the high-end aluminum wheelset, does precisely that. With several years of expertise in hybrid bicycle components and specific, demanding testing procedures, DT Swiss has redesigned this wheelset to suit the extended use of e-mountain biking. The 240s / 370 hubs features a bigger hub body, enabling better brake and drive torque resistance, resulting in better durability. The new hub is now combined with a high-end welded aluminum rim and reinforced hybrid spokes. This wheel is available in two inner widths and two wheel sizes and therefore ready for anyone who wants to extend their eMTB adventure.

Technology:

Intended use - Category 4:
Suitable for use in very rough terrain with jumps of up to approx. 120 cm in height and speeds of up to 40 km/h. Very good riding technique is required. The components must be checked for damage after each ride.

HYBRID:
To cope with the higher loads on e-bikes, the hubs, as the heart of the wheel, have a higher wall thickness and larger housings than usual hubs. The spoke holes have been additionally reinforced. The freehub rotor is made from steel and is equipped with 24-tooth ratchets, which are made from special hardened steel. Heavy-duty axles and oversized hubs allow the wheels to work while bearing high loads. The rims have thicker rim walls and offer plenty of traction. The connecting element between rim and hub, the spokes, have reinforced spoke heads and are made of special steel alloys in order to withstand stronger external forces.

SPLINE:
Straight pull hubs, straight spokes and strong rims result in a durable wheel. It can therefore be reliably used in training and competition.

Ratchet System:
The robust and reliable star ratchets freehub system can be maintained easily and quickly. The no-tool concept contributes to this, because it allows disassembly without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.

Pro Lock:
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.
