Modern and Easy to Match
This stylish Kanzashi barrette (Majeste) features a heart-shaped resin design from the “Dororon Series (Pink).” The resin is applied over compressed felt, with silk fabric on both sides, creating a subtle shine and beautiful texture. It can be worn with just the Kanzashi, allowing you to create your own unique hairstyle. The design pairs beautifully with traditional Japanese attire, making it a great accessory for any occasion. It also makes for an ideal gift.
Dororon Series (Pink): The design features mysterious shapes resembling fireballs, plankton, or amoebas. The light pink and pale blue tones blend gently, evoking a soft, serene atmosphere. The combination of pastel-colored stones complements the design beautifully, creating a sweet and refreshing accessory. The theme is "charmingly cute without being overly sweet."
About Tamura-san
Tamura-san specializes in creating unique accessories by embedding hand-drawn artwork, embroidery, beads, and other materials into clear resin. They craft metal parts to match these resin pieces, incorporating natural stones, glass beads, felt, and ribbons to make original accessories. Each piece is handmade, so even if the design is the same, each item has its own subtle differences. The goal is to create pieces that transcend age and gender, and which evoke a sense of beauty in the viewer while making the wearer feel special.

Manufacturing Process
Design: Tamura-san rarely draws designs on paper when creating accessories. The design process typically happens while working with the materials themselves. Only when designing metal or resin parts, or when collaborating with craftsmen, do they use design sketches or specifications.
Resin Part Design: Resin parts are a core aspect of Tamura-sans work. Once the resin is set, it's given a series name. Most often, they use hand-drawn designs printed on paper or film. Depending on the printing surface (paper or film), the final product will have a different opacity and finish.
Creating Resin Models: The designs are then turned into physical models using stones such as agate or onyx. The models are repeatedly molded using silicone, and they undergo polishing and cutting to achieve the desired effect.
Making Resin Bases: Metal molds are created to fit each resin part perfectly. The metals used include copper, brass, and silver. The backs are engraved with Tamura-sans logo and have a textured pattern. When antique plating is applied, the pattern becomes more defined.
Silicone Molding: Silicone is used to create molds for the resin parts. Care is taken to avoid air bubbles during the pouring process. Depending on the temperature, it can take one to three days for the resin to set.
Pouring Resin into Molds: Once the resin parts are created, they are carefully placed into molds. Each part is customized with various materials such as paper, film, beads, and seasonal embellishments, depending on the design.
Finishing Resin Parts: After the resin parts have hardened, they are removed from the molds, revealing vibrant and unique pieces. Tamura-san then decides the best metal to pair with each resin part to enhance its beauty.
Metal Part Creation: Unlike resin parts, metal parts require heat and a gas burner for crafting. Each metal part is shaped manually without sketches. For instance, when making Kanzashi, brass wire is cut and shaped by hand.
Metal Polishing and Plating: After the metal pieces are shaped, they are cleaned in acid to remove oxidation, then polished to a shine. The pieces are sent for plating, with the quality of the polishing affecting the final result.
Assembly: Once the metal parts are plated, they are carefully assembled with the resin pieces. The plating options include antique finishes in gold, silver, and copper, as well as 24k gold and rhodium plating. Nickel-free plating is used, with a few exceptions. The appropriate plating color is chosen based on the resin design.
Final Touches: After the resin and metal parts are assembled, natural stones, beads, and pearls are added to complete the accessory. The final product evolves organically as each series takes shape. The process allows for unexpected yet delightful results.
