This is one of three very heavy small

bronze animal studies we arelisting by well

known South African sculpture;

Keith Calder

From his ‘Eromel Bronze Collection'.

Calder's work ranges from miniatures to

life-size to monumentalsculptures and

is well represented ininstitutions and

corporations throughout South Africa.

Third last photo shows all three

sculptures for sales but this listing

is for the NESTING HERON only.

It seems to be the rarest of the three studies

and doesn't seem to come up for sale

very often – especially complete

with both bird and nest.

CONDITION

In good untouched vintage condition.

The end of the birds beak is ever so slightly

bent but not too bad - SEE PHOTOS.

No other problems.

The patina is original i.e. it hasnt been cleaned

or polished nor has anyone changed its finish

in any way.

DIMENSIONS

It measures approx:

17.2 cm (6 3/4") wide

by 10.2 cm (4")deep

and 9.5 (3 3/4")high
